Connecting a "Plantronics Explorer 220" Bluetooth headset to my PS3?

I just bought a "Plantronics Explorer 220" Bluetooth headset today and want to connect to my PS3. After the handset is fully charged, I went to connect to my PS3 and it worked well the first time, so I went to play Call of Duty 4 and I realized that was not microphone icon next to my name when I checked, the headset connects said everything was fine so I went to a party with people talking and not listening and they couldnt hear me. So I decided to remove the headset connection and try again but now reaches the exploration and stays there. What is wrong and how can I fix it? Yes I looked at the manual. If you work you get a better response. Best Answer = 10 points.

You may have a bad Bluetooth headset. I used to have a Motorola H3 who once worked with my phone and had to return to AT & T and exchange for another. The new It worked fine for a couple of years (even used it for my PS3) until inflated costs. Did you buy new or used? It is one of the two problems. The headset is not in pairing mode (the only way the PS3 is not detected when it is paired with him), or is there something wrong with the headset.
